A summer to remember for PUZZLING WORLD
The bumper summer crowds welcomed into Wanaka’s Puzzling World have enjoyed many new developments and upgrades this season that are just a taste of things to come!
Throughout its forty year history a vital aspect of Puzzling World has always been to encourage a theme of continual re-development and investment in the business, so it was no surprise that instead of taking a break after their recent Illusion room extension the management team of Heidi and Duncan Spear went headlong into the next phase of development.
Interior walls were added and a complete re-paint of all indoor areas included bright feature walls throughout the Puzzle Centre, Gift shop and Illusion Rooms. Large, clear signage, updated AV displays and arrows were also added to assist customers in navigating their way around the business.
The oldest Illusion room, The Tilted House was completely overhauled – new balustrades, chair slide and wonky mirrors along with several new “wall art” concepts have made often the most popular room even more intriguing!
To keep within their mantra of providing innovative and unique illusionary experiences Puzzling World also added some incredible new innovations in holographic and presentation software that offer New Zealand’s first permanent Holoboxx hologram and first Virtual Assistant featuring a hologram of an attractive female explaining where to go and what to see in the business.
The Great Maze also received an addition when it welcomed a cool water mister booth to offer over-heated customers the chance to cool off during their journey!
The popular Psychic Challenge was given a new home and upgraded to offer an eye-catching display within the Puzzle Centre while its previous position gave way to a large History Wall chronicling the many highlights and changes to the attraction over the years. A special short film was also commissioned to play on a screen in the middle of the wall using footage from the earliest beginnings to now.
The next development called for a complete re-cladding of the iconic Tumbling Towers that for over 25 years has welcomed visitors into Wanaka. Using a mix of building materials and colour along with the addition of a schist stone frontage the new version is set to remain a landmark for a long while yet!
What’s next for 2014? – a new illusionary photo box is due to be launched shortly and Duncan and Heidi say there’s plenty more ideas to be explored as they head into their fifth decade.
